Epoxy floor paint or self-leveling epoxy?
Both are epoxy flooring options, but they are not interchangeable. The right proposal starts with your concrete, how the space is used and the finish you need—not just the lowest price per square metre.
What is the difference?
Epoxy floor paint / coating
A roller-applied coating protects and refreshes the concrete surface. It is generally a thinner build than a self-leveling system. Axentorq offers this option alongside its other epoxy flooring systems.
Self-leveling epoxy
A self-smoothing system provides a smooth, seamless finish. It is typically a thicker build than a roller coating. The specified product and preparation still determine what the finished floor can deliver.
Choose around the work your floor must do
A warehouse, workshop, showroom and garage do not necessarily need the same system. Share these details before choosing:
Traffic and loads
Describe pedestrian use, vehicles, forklifts and equipment. Ask whether the proposed system is suitable for that use rather than relying on the word epoxy alone.
Water, spills and grip
Identify wet areas, oils or other exposure, and discuss the required texture. A glossy appearance is not a specification for slip resistance.
Appearance and location
Explain the finish you want and whether the area is indoors, covered or exposed to direct sunlight. Ask about the complete system, including any top coat.
Existing concrete
Send photos of cracks, old coatings and damaged areas. Surface inspection and testing help establish preparation and repair requirements before application.
